Their Story
In 2015, Bekah and her husband took a leap of faith. They both left jobs they weren’t passionate about — welding/mechanics and medical billing — and decided to build something of their own. With nothing but a mower, a pickup truck, and a dinky trailer, they started a landscaping company side by side.
Her husband had past experience with both landscaping and climbing trees, and over time, what started as just landscaping and “dabbling with trees” evolved into larger tree removals, land clearing, and lawn regrades. In 2017, they officially rebranded as Urban Forestry of Pennsylvania, and today, they operate with two full-time employees and the kind of big equipment they once only dreamed about.
Built on Trust & Hard Work
Urban Forestry isn’t just about cutting down trees — it’s about building something meaningful from the ground up.
“It’s wild what 10 years can bring and it’s not always rainbows and butterflies… in fact MOST of the time it’s not because this line of work is challenging, exhausting, dangerous and money consuming. But it’s what my husband loves and I enjoy being on the back side in the office these days with 3 little kiddos at home and still being a part of something we built together side by side.”
Their crew is fully trained, professional, and insured. They also carry workers’ comp — which, as Bekah points out, “isn’t something all tree companies do in our area.”
A Local Business with Heart
At the end of the day, what matters most to them is being honest, dependable, and making people feel safe.
“We’re honest, genuine, trustworthy people and we understand in this day and age you never know who you’re allowing onto your property but safety is our number 1 goal and our crew is trained and professional in that aspect and always want our clients to feel as safe and comfortable as possible.”
Whether it’s cleaning up after a storm or helping someone reclaim their yard, Bekah and her husband stay grounded in what matters: serving their clients well and doing it with heart.
